Preventative Health Care

1. Routine Complete Physical Exams
Preventing health problems is always better than waiting to treat them after they have occurred. By their very nature, animals “hide” their illnesses from human observers, making early detection of problems a special challenge for vets. Complete physical exams every 6 months, parasite control, vaccinations, dietary recommendations, dental health checks and health screening through blood, urine and fecal tests are all  important components of our programs designed to prevent disease. Preventive health care recommendations are made based on physical exam findings and your pet’s needs, risks and life-style.

2. Veterinary Dentistry
Whether it be regular dental cleaning to maintain a beautiful ‘smile’ or more involved oral surgery to return a mouth to a healthy state, we have the equipment and trained staff necessary to provide the highest quality dental care for your pet. Dental disease in animals frequently causes serious disease of the heart, liver and kidneys.

3. Nutritional counseling
With the number of diets available today, choosing a diet for your pet can be a confusing and somewhat daunting task. From selecting a diet for your brand new puppy, to optimizing nutrition for your aging feline friend, our doctors and technicians will be glad to guide you.

4. Behavior counseling
We believe that good behavior is an essential component of creating a healthy and lasting bond between pets and their owners. We make it our mission to get new puppy and kitten owners started on the right foot.
Prevention is always better than cure. Our vets have extensive postdoctoral training in problem behaviors, and they are always willing to patiently listen and help correct your pets “quirks”.
